it's dangerous at times, but i suppose thats the thrill of it. sitting behind a desk filing paperwork certainly isn't why i applied for this position. what do you do?

Temporarily, I wait tables. I think Americans call it a...waitress, yes? It's only until I graduate. Customers can be rude, tips are lousy, and I've had the pleasure of seeing the workers spit in the patron's food. It's very...um, interesting.

yeah, i can understand that. i came from ireland and wound up in a really lousy job working as a cleaner at a hotel while i made my way through police academy, i changed jobs a few times though. could never find something worth settling into at the time.

people are definitely different, and maybe i'm used to doing things in a more old fashioned manner. it takes a little getting used to, believe me, but you'll get there eventually. it's not so bad after a while.

I almost feel a bit safer. Almost. What is it with their strict rules? Paris isn't so strict on having one glass of wine with dinner. It's almost considered rude if you don't, depending on circumstance.

guess they're more controlling in some aspects, definitely. it's supposed to be a country that promotes freedom, but sometimes i wonder if it really is as free as they say.

English isn't my first language. I often struggle with it and revert to French to compensate. They have a 'speak English or gtfo' mindset, it seems. I don't think I've ever seen a class of savages such as these in my twenty years. I think they've managed to reach a whole new level of savage. How can you stand it?

i guess, it's a lot safer here than home in most cases. that said, i don't agree with that, it's a multicultural society and you shouldn't be discriminated against because of where you come from.
