preston might have given elliot the 'here we go again' look, if the man had known about elliot's plans to meet up with a girl who clearly had little to no interest in him. but of course, both men played the game similarly and knew the truth; she was interested in him. or, she would prove it today by showing up. there had to be something there that would motivate her, bring her to where he could engulf her in his grasp. cocky, he might be - a bit overconfident with a pinch of rude, wry humor - but it had worked for him in the past, so why would elliot even consider changing his ways? certainly not for the pretty little thing he had met over an im chat that he was hoping would prove to be just as much of an eye candy as she had been over the internet.
either way, he was walking to meet beth at the hotel she was staying at, and they were - if things went as planned - going to walk to shoreline cafe and have coffee. elliot, for one, could not be less interested in coffee or shoreline cafe or walking, but the added bonus of a beautiful girl was the thread (or rather, metal rod) chaining him to this commitment. he was clad simply, in a white tshirt, jeans and converse - appropriate attire, something he wore year round in casual circumstances. elliot had gone quite a while since he felt the nervous need to dress up for a girl. especially walking to a cafe for coffee and lessons on how to be respectful. elliot, in all honesty, was hoping to just head straight back into her hotel room.
but, the way things had gone, something inside him doubted that. she wasn't exactly as easy as he had become accustomed to - which was something that, unfortunately, reeled him in even more. hence his agreeing to the coffee date, something he wouldn't do in a million years for a girl that would just have sex with him just as easily. elliot turned a corner and his eyes fell expectantly on the sign signifying the location of her hotel. beth, her name was. muttering a few loose words to the random girl he was talking to on the phone, elliot looked down at it and ended the call, slipping back into the pocket of his jeans and shoving his hands in his pockets to follow as he walked the last few strides to her hotel and then stopped, peering inside the windows with the smallest hint of playfulness in his eyes. he was so eager to see if she was going to stand him up. if she expected that to get rid of him, the girl was in for a surprise.

The hotel room was small, but it was only meant to be her place of sleep for a few days. She had been told that her lights and gas and other things would be up by the time she got into town, however that wasn't the case. She had arrived on her scheduled day, however her place still wasn't ready. They promised she would be able to move in by the end of the week, however the week seemed to drag. She really wanted nothing more than to be able to move into her place and get settled before classes started. However at this rate, she wasn't going to get much time to settle before jumping in feet first at school. It bothered Beth a bit, since she was the type of girl who liked organization, however she tried to resort back to her old times when she was a bit more spontaneous.
That was how she got into today's arrangement. She had met a man online, a very rude man, who asked her for drinks. Beth, not being the kind of girl to drink alcohol, agreed for coffee. Being in a new place with so many unfamiliar people normally would have made her turn even that offer down, however with so many other things going astray, she couldn't help but hope for a little fun. Granted, she wasn't to sure she was going to be able to get even that today. It had been clear from the conversation the two held online that the boy was not going to be to kind, a handful from what she could tell, however he agreed to learning some manners and respect from her in exchange for the coffee, at least that's how she viewed it. Agreeing, being the kind women that she was, she couldn't help but find herself also agreeing just look at the man. She knew she would probably end up recreating it lately, since he was a very rude guy and she was a bit of a prude, however it was to late to back out now. While many people might have stood the man up, Beth was not the kind of lady to disrespect someone in that kind of fashion.
Grabbing her leather jacket, Beth started to make her way to the hotel door, making sure to slip the key into her bag, before pulling it on her shoulder. Opening the door she headed out into the outside hallway and closed her door behind her. Making sure it locked, she started to make her way down the concrete path to the stairs, before bouncing down it and starting to make her way to the front. Spotting, what looked like to be the man, quickly, she started to make her way over, a small smile on her face. Although he had been rude before, Beth was always a gentle girl, sweet, innocent. Although her past has never been so nice to her, she has always tried to make it up with her attitude. "Hi there." the soft voice coming over her lips as she walked over to the taller man. "I'm Beth, its so nice to finally meet you in person." She continued in her soft voice. It was so funny what people expected of her. They always saw her soft side, the nice girl. It made people assume that she could never be cold, firm. However, life had taught her so many things and in the end, the young girl could be anything she wanted to be, other than dirty. 605 words, outfit, notes: god my brain is all over the place |

one could expect that, being the seasoned flirt he was, elliot wasn't really affected anymore by a girl's appearance. it was partly true - he could meet a girl, and while examining them and wetting at the mouth like a hungry dog, their apperance did nothing but lure him to bodies and sex rather than the attraction of the woman itself. there was the occasional girl - the girl that looked so differently than the others, but it all ended the same way for elliot. she was too clingy, he was too forward, or something similar to that. elliot never had problems telling girls what problems he had with them, then dumping them on their ass. he figured it was kind, in a roundabout way, compared to letting things and feelings linger on. better to end things abruptly, even give them some constructive criticism on what not to do next time they got a boyfriend. what an asshole, you might think. oh well, it's the thought that counts.
however; this particular girl walked out of the hotel entrance, and elliot spotted her immediately. despite whether or not his mind connected her to the girl he had spoken with online, her appearance captivated him. he would have approached her despite the date he was supposed to be on (he considered it a date, anyway), and indeed for a moment he forgot completely about the girl he was supposed to be meeting and was focused only on this one. the other could wait - she wasn't as important. this was how his brain suddenly functioned - irrationally, and as she began to approach him without any indication, a slight bout of confusion came over him before elliot's brain kicked back into gear and he realized this was the girl he was supposed to be meeting. a wicked smile passed over his lips, flickering lights in his stone colored eyes, and he stepped casually forward, his gaze trickling along her collarbone, shoulders, up her hair and jawline, her lips, then to her eyes (odd - first was usually the body). "hi there." her voice was soft, gentle. what had he expected? elliot wasn't quite sure. his careful gaze dragged back to her eyes (it had fallen back to her lips when she spoke). "i'm beth, it's so nice to finally meet you in person." the words were so formal, but elliot didn't mind. he was still trying to recover from her intoxicating presence, not exactly sure how he was supposed to respond. everything inside him was so used to responding one way, and then this girl came along and he didn't really want to react like that. it didn't feel natural.
"elliot." it was spoken smoothly, in his typical drawl, thank god - elliot had to say he was mildly worried that it would come out and do something silly like sound too rough or crack or something equally ridiculous. "pleasure's mine," he said, breaking off rather abruptly as if he was going to say something else, but rather held the breath he was on and only now let his gaze trail down a bit to the attire that closely outlined her figure. just his type - small, petite, still enough curves to be there. he got the feeling that, from their conversation online, they weren't going back into her hotel room, so elliot turned rather nonchalantly but kept his chest partly facing her, so as to not stalk off without her. he brought up a leisurely walk, looking down at her with a playful grin. "well, off we go for coffee. aren't you going to thank me for walking you?" the boyish grin remained on his lips but he was otherwise quiet, anticipating her soft response as he kept his eyes where he was walking but his head turned towards her.

When it came to guys and things like flirting, the small girl was horrible at it. Half the time she didn't even notice when guys were trying to talk her up, until they were getting rude and making nasty comment. However, if a guy tried to be nice about it, complimenting her, trying to ask her out in a nice way, it went right over her head. It wasn't that she was slow or stupid, it was the fact that she was oblivious to guys being interested in her. She didn't understand it. Yes she could be outgoing and playful like the other girls, but she hardly ever dressed in anything overly sexy, she didn't care for showing skin unless she was in a nice dress or skirt and she wasn't the type of girl to flirt or buy into guys ways easy. In fact, Beth was still a virgin and other than kissing a few guys, she never really got out of the starting date. Although people believed she was a virgin, no one believe she hadn't gotten past first base. However Beth was a simple girl. She didn't like players and she wasn't looking to get her heart broken. She had lost enough in her life and it was enough to protect the one thing she had left, her virginity, her already shattered heart from loosing her family. No. She was a bit protective of what she had left, but that didn't mean she wasn't looking for the same thing that everyone else was.
Making her way down the path, her light curls bouncing around her shoulder as she made her way down the steps, she spotted the man. She had to admit, she could see why he was so cocky and conceded, he was gorgeous. Still, in Beth's book, that wasn't an excuse to act like a total pig and treat her disrespectfully. Looking down at the ground as she walked, she tried to keep her cheeks from growing pink, however the closer she got to the man, she more she felt them heat up, meaning she was blushing. She didn't understand why a man who looked like that, wanted to get manner lessons from her over cups of coffee. Not when he could be making his way around town picking up any women he really wanted. Still, swallowing hard, Beth made her way up to the man, hoping he was the right one, before greeting him in her normal soft tone.
She could feel his eyes on her, before she even fully looked back up at him. In fact she could feel them following her across the parking lot as she made her way over. She was sure he was looking at her body, wasn't that what men like him did. After all, he had made it clear he was a ladies man, the kind her mother use to warn her about back home. Yet, her she was, being foolish enough to meet him. Finally looking up, she was a bit amazed when she found his eyes meeting hers. He wasn't looking at her chest or her ass, which was what she assumed he would be doing. Instead he was looking at her face and as she talked, his eye only peered down a little. She wasn't sure what he was looking at, but it still wasn't her chest and that amazed her.
As she spoke, Beth realized how formal she was being. She couldn't help it. Its how she always was when she first meets a person. After a while, she normally opens up, becoming more outgoing. Licking her lips softly as he started to take a few steps, she followed him. "That's a very nice name. Not one you hear to often." She commented lightly before blushing again as he spoke about the pleasure being all his. Looking up at him she waited for him to say more, but instead the words hung there in silence. Looking down, watcher her feet as she walked, she let the pause rest there for a moment, about to speak, before he finally broke the silence. Laughing lightly, Beth's eyes glanced back up at the mans face, her eyes meeting his as a light smile spread across her face, "yes, thank you so much for meting me. Iv already gotten lost at least three times since iv arrived. I fear I would have done the same today." laughing lightly, Beth shook her head, her brown hair dancing around her lightly "I have no sense of direction. I get that from my mother." The comment was simple, but bring up her mother was hard to ignore. However, Beth didn't want to cause any emotion that would leave the man questioning her thoughts. "So have you lived here your whole life?" Beth was trying to break the ice, but being the kind of girl she was, she wasn't to good at doing it. 853 words, outfit, notes: opps sorry. that got a little longer than i would have liked |

there were small things about her - the way she stepped lightly, glanced at the ground, color gracing her cheeks as she realized his eyes were on her. they weren't things that did anything spectacular for either of them; they simply lured him in, made him wish he knew more about the girl, and gave him motivation to strive for exactly that. she fell into step beside him, and elliot's gaze dropped over towards her as his hands were nonchalantly shoved into his pockets. "that's a very nice name. not one you hear too often," she said, and elliot squinted at her, the smallest pieces of a smile tugging at his lips. he couldn't think of anything to say in response. he wasn't going to thank her - elliot wasn't the type to thank anyone for anything, so he remained quiet before coming up with some snarky comment to poke fun at her, which she responded to fairly well. "yes, thank you so much for meeting me. i've already gotten lost at least three times since i've arrived. i fear i would have done the same today." the way she formed words was somewhat mesmerizing to him, and he forced himself to not watch her lips anyway (they would be fun to kiss) and just listen to them as he looked down at the sidewalk passing under their footsteps. she laughed a small bit, and elliot just caught the way her chocolate brown hair flipped a bit as she shook her head. "i have no sense of direction. i get that from my mother." relaxing a small bit, elliot gave a nod and looked down at her with a formal purse of his lips. "well, i'm definitely glad i met you, then. wouldn't have wanted to sit for hours, waiting for you to get here, with a defective mental compass," he teased, leaning over slightly towards her smaller frame and restraining a chuckle.
"so, have you lived here your whole life?" she asked, and elliot's playful smile turned wry. "no, actually," he began, and exhaled heavily, turning a corner while his gaze followed her. "i moved here when i was eighteen. i grew up in florida. jacksonville." memories from that town invaded his mind - very uninvited. he didn't want to remember leaving, the constant mental debate of whether he ran or was chased out. elliot would tell those he was close to (only case in point being preston) that he was completely motivated to get out of there and did so on his own account, immediately when it was legal. but elliot had some attachments to his mother. his relationship with his brothers was something that kept him farther away from her - not physically but also within the relationship. it forced him away. not that he would ever admit that. according to himself, elliot didn't want nor need any member of his family. he didn't need anyone, in fact.
"i would ask the same of you, but then i wouldn't just be an asshole, i would be a stupid asshole," he said lightly, recovering from the sudden mental reflection. "where did you live before this?" elliot's gaze moved away from her face and up the street to their destination, only another couple minutes away.

Okay, total hottie. Elizabeth would admit it to herself, however she knew better than to ever allow the guy to know what she thought. It was clear that he was a man who thought highly of himself and very little of the people around him. The last thing she needed was him thinking she was just another easy target, which was so not the case. In fact Elizabeth was a virgin and she was planning on staying that way. It didn't matter how much the tall, dark, and handsome man batted his eyes and worked his charm, Elizabeth was going to make sure it didn't work on her. Still, if she was being honest, she understood why the man was so self absorbed, however it still didn't give him the right to talk to people the way he had spoke to her over aim.
As Elizabeth spoke, she could tell he wasn't going to be responding much. Great, the first person she meets and not only is he an ass, but hes going to make her do all the talking. What a great welcome into town shes getting. Frowning when there was no thank you for her compliment or any reaction from the man at all, she shook her head, biting her lip lightly. "Well since I'm apparently meant to be teaching you some manners, I guess the first lesson needs to be the fact that you should thank a lady that compliments you." She felt so weird telling this man how he should and shouldn't act when she knew nothing about him. However that was the point of this outing wasn't it? At least part of it. Elizabeth just hoped it wasn't some kind of trap to try and get her into bed. Not that she would fall for it, however she was still grasping on the straws of there being a decent man out there.
As the two of them started to walk, Elizabeth stuck her hands into her leather jacket. Normally this wasn't her normal way of caring herself, however the man was making her fell a little unconformable. Looking up at him as he started to speak, she took note that he wasn't born here. "So why did you move here, if you don't mind me asking?" she could tell that it probably wasn't the best question since his smile had faded when he first started to speak, however Elizabeth couldn't help but want to know about the boy, even if she was slightly turned off by his behavior. There had been a slight hint of why he might have moved, by the time he had done it. After all, he said he moved when he was eighteen. It wasn't anything strange for a man to move when he was able or anyone for that matter. So maybe all it had to do with was Independence. However, Elizabeth could since more and it made her want to know the real reasons.
Laughing as he spoke she nodded "I guess that would be right wouldn't it, I mean since its very clear I'm new to town." Swallowing, Elizabeth looked down as her own thoughts of her family swept through her mind. "I'm from Italy. I guess you said I moved here to get away. Just needed a change. I guess that's all any ones really looking for when they move. Right?" Looking up at the boy she hoped he would understand what she was saying, without the need for her to explain. 611 words, outfit, notes: opps sorry. that got a little longer than i would have liked |
